Brenta and Venetian Lagoon
I sincerely recognize that not many people know about these delightful Italian locations.
I am referring to the Brenta river and its riverbank surroundings, namely beautiful villas. A fascinating pathway between Padua and Venice, influenced by history, culture and astonishing architectures, to visit by car, in bicycle or…. on water, as I did with the "Battello del Burchiello".
The Villas are marvelous residences which were used by the noble Venetians as a point of reference for the supervision of the hinterland business, as well as for true vacation periods. The most important Villa is the monumental Villa Pisani in Stra, a praiseworthy architectural expression of the eighteenth century and of the magnificence of the Baroque period, counting 114 rooms, estimable statues and paintings, all created by great masters of art.
There are many other Villas, as Villa Foscarini Rossi, Villa Alessandri, la Barchessa Valmarana and Villa Widmann Rezzonico Foscari and the masterpiece of Villa Widamann Foscari, called "La Malcontenta", which is linked to an extravagant legend.
